Please refer to the manufacturer's instructions supplied with your hardware for details on how to connect your ADSL device to the phone line, power source and the computer.

Configuring the Speedtouch 546 router for a NAT solution

Please set your computer to "Obtain an IP address automatically".

Configuration using the setup wizard from the Speedtouch CD-ROM

4) In the Service Selection Window, select "UK PPPoA (With Custom Settings)".

5) Insert the username and password supplied to you by Claranet.

6) You will need to create an administrator password to use when you access to the router in future. Enter the router administration password of your choice. Please ensure that a record of your admin login and password is made as Claranet will not have these details. Click on Next to continue.

7) There is no need to modify any settings in this window. Click on Next to continue.

8) Unless you have manually assigned IP addresses to the computers attached to the router, there is no need to modify any settings on this window, click on Next to proceed.

9) Select Start to save the settings you have entered.

10) The router will now reboot (this may take up to 5 minutes) and then attempt to establish a connection to the internet.

Configuring the Speedtouch 546 router for a NON-NAT solution.

Please follow the instructions stated on the previous section above, up to step 6 before continuing with the instructions detailed below.

1) Select "Public (without-NAT)" on the Router Addressing window. Insert the first available IP within your range as the Speedtouch IP Address. Please note the first (Network Address) and last (Broadcast Address) IP addresses of your range are reserved (they are unavailable to use), hence the first available IP will be the second IP in your range.
Enter the correct Ethernet Mask.

These details will be supplied by Claranet if you have a NON-NAT solution with us.

2) Untick "Enable DHCP" to disable this feature. Ensure that you have assigned an IP address from the range to your computer in order to communicate with the router correctly.

3) Select Start to configure the router with the details you have entered.

4) The router will now reboot (this may take up to 5 minutes) and then attempt to establish a connection to the internet.
