ADSL Speed Test

This allows you to test the speed of your Broadband(ADSL) connection within the BT network. To use the Speed Tester you must logout of your current Broadband account and logon to the Speed Tester account.

In order to connect to the Speedtester domain Please use following details. speedtest@speedtest_domain in the userID(login) field in your connection window. A password is not required for this connection

On a USB Modem Connection

On an ADSL Router( Speed touch 510)

Once connected, open a web browser (Internet explorer) and enter the speedtester URL http://speedtester.bt.com/ in the address bar in order to access the speedtester server. Note: If you are on a NON-NAT connection please change the DNS severs of your computer to BT's DNS servers. They are as follows: 194.74.65.69 - 217.35.209.180

Alternatively, Please use either of the following addresses on your web browser address bar instead of http://speedtester.bt.com/. If you haven't changed the DNS servers on your computer.

http://217.32.105.4

You will then be presented with the "Speedtester home page" screen and you can perform a speed test by entering your broadband(ADSL) activated telephone number. Select Go in order to run the test.

Once you get the test results the connection will disable automatically after a few minutes and you will need to reconnect to Claranet in order to regain your Internet connection.
