1) Click on the Apple menu and select System Preferences, then click on the Network icon.
2) Click on Location and select New Location. Enter a name for your connection that will allow you to identify it, for example: "Claranet_Dial". This field does not accept any spaces. Click on Ok to proceed.

3) Select Internal Modem at the Show option and you should see a screen similar to the one shown below. Please enter the following information on this screen:
Service provider: Enter the name you wish to label this connection as, any name would do.
Account name: Enter your user name, for example if your Claranet email address is joebloggs@clara.co.uk this would make your username joebloggs.
Password: Enter your account password. This is case sensitive.
Telephone and alternate number: Enter your dial up access number according to the package you have with us. (For more information, please see the access numbers below).

4) Click on the TCP/IP tab and enter in the Claranet DNS server addresses.
Primary DNS: 195.8.69.7
Secondary DNS: 195.8.69.12

5) Click on the Modem tab and ensure the settings are similar to the ones shown below. Once this has been checked, click on Apply Now.

You should now be able to connect to Claranet.
Here are the access numbers you need to complete step 3
Please note: If you are required to dial a specific number to obtain an outside line; for example you are in an office using a switchboard and the number to dial out is 9, then please add that number in front of the Clara.Net dial up access number. It would look something like this: 908451264000.
If you are calling from a withheld number (ex-directory), please add 1470 before the access number; e.g. 147008451264000
The pay as you go dial up numbers are charged at local rate by your telephone service provider. All the numbers provide the same service so there is no real preference.
