Guide To The Speedtouch Router 510

Once you have wired the SpeedTouch router to the ADSL line and the computer, the router must be configured to accept the Claranet ADSL connection. For further information on the wiring setup of the SpeedTouch 510 router, please consult the Speedtouch 510 manual.

Instructions

1) Insert the SpeedTouch CD-ROM into the PC.

2) The CD will auto-start with the SpeedTouch wizard. Select your language, click on "Initial Setup", then click on "Setup my Speedtouch". If you agree with the licence agreement, click on Yes to proceed.

3) The wizard will start searching your network for the SpeedTouch router.

4) Once the device has been detected, it will list the router version, serial number etc. Click on Next to proceed.

5) Select the profile as "Routed PPPoA-DHCP-NAPT" and click on Next.

6) Select the VPI/VCI as 0 and 38 from the list and click on Next.

7) Enter your Claranet ADSL username and password as supplied.

Your username should look like either of the following:

joebloggs@adsl-1.uk.clara.net
joebloggs@adsl-2.uk.clara.net

If your Claranet e-mail address is johnsmith@clara.co.uk this would make your ADSL username johnsmith@adsl-1.uk.clara.net or johnsmith@adsl-2.uk.clara.net. The syntax after the @ symbol is known as the ADSL Gateway. The gateway affiliated with your account would have been sent to you once the service was activated.

8) Enter the username and password for the router. This is required to add an extra level of security for accessing the router itself.

9) The wizard will summarize the details you have entered. If the details all appear to be correct click on "Next".

10) Click on Finish to complete the wizard.

The Setup is complete, you should now have 3 green lights on the router and be able to connect to the Internet.
